Biography:

Dr. Angélica S. Gutiérrez earned her B.A. in Political Science and Sociology with honors at UCLA, her M.P.P at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, and her Ph.D. at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. After obtaining her Ph.D., Professor Gutiérrez was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship and visiting scholar appointment at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business and National Center for Institutional Diversity. Her research interests include diversity and inclusion in universities and in the workplace, gender and cultural differences in negotiations, and employee recruitment, selection and retention policies and practices.
At LMU, Professor Gutiérrez teaches Leadership and the core Management class (Managing People and Organizations) at the undergraduate and MBA levels. She was recently one of 10 faculty recognized as an “Outstanding Professor” by Kappa Alpha Theta.

In addition to teaching and research, Professor Gutiérrez enjoys volunteering with various organizations. In recognition of her community leadership and contributions, she was one of 10 Latinas in the U.S. recognized as the “Next Generation Latina” by Latina Magazine, an award that honors Latinas who have made a significant impact in their respective communities as role models, mentors and leaders. Additionally, Professor Gutiérrez was one of 20 Latinas in the U.S. named a “Latina of Influence” by Hispanic Lifestyle and received a Positive Impact Award
