Biography:Lyangela Gutierrez is a doctoral student in the Management & Organizations area at UCLA Anderson School of Management. She graduated from Rice University in 2015 with a BA in Psychology and Spanish & Portuguese Studies. Broadly defined, she studies diversity and individuals with stigmatized identities (e.g., racial minorities). In one line of research, she examines the antecedents and consequences of differences in perceptions of diversity. In another line of research, she studies how individuals with stigmatized identities navigate organizational settings and the factors that may exacerbate stigmatization.
